Digital transmitters and receivers commonly operate in the 2.4 GHz frequency band, which is well out of the way of TV stations and cell phone towers, two of the main culprits that can interfere with some wireless devices, however 2.4GHz systems are prone to interference from large numbers of other digital 2.4GHz devices (including WiFi networks).
