Since opening our doors in 1976 as a small music shop on Sydney’s North Shore, Turramurra Music has grown into one of Australia’s most trusted and respected destinations for musical instruments, professional audio equipment and more.

For 50 years, we’ve remained a proudly independent, family-owned, and community-focused business, helping generations of musicians — from beginners and school bands to touring professionals — find the right instruments, gear and guidance to support their musical journey.

Our Story

What began as a small music store selling records, guitars and accessories has evolved into a comprehensive music centre known throughout Sydney, Australia and beyond. Today, we offer one of the widest selections of musical instruments, live sound equipment, recording and production hardware and accessories in the country as well as extensive services including in-house repairs, equipment and instrument hire and more.

In 2026, we were honoured at the prestigious NAMM Retail Awards in the United States, being named Best Community Retailer, as well as a top three finalist for global Retailer of the Year - global accolades that place Turramurra Music alongside the world’s leading independent music stores.
