Ibanez set out to elevate the iconic Tube Screamer by reimagining its flagship, hand-wired model. In this pursuit, every component was meticulously evaluated to ensure the pedal retained its signature transparent, mid-range-focused tone. After testing numerous prototypes, the team determined that the JRC NJM4558 op-amp was essential for achieving the Tube Screamer's legendary sound. This new design, however, goes further: with the inclusion of high-end components such as MOGAMI OFC cables, it brings a wider range of tonal possibilities that enhance the hand-wired build. Additionally, a boost was incorporated into the circuit's final stage, increasing the maximum output by +6dB. The pedal’s appearance has also been refined, adding a premium aesthetic while honouring its traditional shape.
