Benson The Amp is the culmination of a collaboration between Milkman and Benson Amplifiers, packaging the iconic tone of the Monarch and Chimera amplifiers into a portable and versatile format. This powerhouse combines a high-voltage 12AX7 tube preamp circuit with a 100W Class D power amp, delivering enough headroom for any situation, from silent stages to loud rehearsals.

At its core, Benson The Amp features the exact BASS and TREBLE controls from the revered Benson Chimera and Monarch preamps, renowned for their musicality and usefulness at every setting. These controls are finely tuned to work with any guitar or instrument, where subtle twists can yield profound tonal shifts and feel.

Mastering the VOLUME and OUTPUT interaction is key to unlocking its character. Cranking the VOLUME control produces natural tube breakup, which can be tamed by adjusting the OUTPUT for consistent volume levels. For pristine clean tones, simply lower the VOLUME and compensate with the OUTPUT control.

Integrated effects make it a complete solution. The REVERB is a authentic spring DSP algorithm developed exclusively by Keeley Electronics, foot-switchable on the top panel. The ROOM effect mimics the early reflections of an amp in a great-sounding space, adding depth and life for direct recording or silent stages. Via internal trimmers, this effect can be tailored to a standard slapback delay. The BOOST, also foot-switchable, provides up to 24dB of clean signal boost before the tube preamp, perfect for pushing the gain stage into further saturation.

The analog CAB SIM on the XLR output captures the frequency response of Benson’s favourite mic’d cabinet—an oversized 1×12 with a Benson Ceramic 30 speaker using an AEA N22 ribbon mic—through a no-latency analog circuit. It can be bypassed via a rear-panel switch.

Benson The Amp includes outputs for pedals, speakers, headphones, and line level, with configurable wattage: 50W (16ohm), 100W (8ohm), or 200W (4ohm). Its compact dimensions (8.5″ x 3″ x 6.5″) and light weight (2.5 lbs) make it the ultimate tonal companion.
