The Desert Storylines range of Ukuleles was created to celebrate Aboriginal culture and artists. The range features three artists from the Northern Territory; Chantelle Mulladad, Evelyn Young, and Margaret Bloomfield, with Bushfoods being painted by Margaret Bloomfield. A portion of each sale goes directly back to the artist to help support their work and continue telling their stories.
"My painting is about the bushfoods we often go out bush to collect and eat - they are wild passionfruit 'Arrutnenge' and bush banana 'Alangkwe'. We also still eat witchety grubs, honey ants, bush coconut and other foods that grow here in the desert. There are plenty of things to eat if you know where to look. It is important to me to teach the young kids and pass on the knowledge the right way."
