Maxon
Maxon is a renowned Japanese audio electronics brand, celebrated for producing high-quality guitar effects pedals, particularly overdrive pedals, with a history dating back to the mid-1960s. Manufactured by Nisshin Onpa, the company is perhaps best known for designing and manufacturing the legendary Ibanez Tube Screamer (TS808 and TS9) models until 2002 when Maxon ceased manufacturing for Ibanez and began marketing their own original Nine Series models, bringing their designs to the global market under the Maxon brand name.
Since then, Maxon released the OD9 Overdrive, a faithful, true-bypass rendition of the classic TS9 Tube Screamer, often regarded as more versatile than the original. The Maxon OD808 is another popular pedal known for its smooth, creamy overdrive and regarded as a standard in transparent, low-gain dirt.
