The Yamaha DM5 brings the sound quality, reliability and advanced workflow of Yamaha’s professional digital consoles into a powerful mid-sized format. With 60 mono input channels, 24 mix buses, 12 matrices, dual stereo buses and extensive onboard processing, the Yamaha DM5 is equipped for demanding live productions, theatres, houses of worship, corporate events and fixed installations.

The DM5 features 26 motorised faders with two large 13.3-inch multi-touch displays. Adjustable screen angles provide excellent visibility whether you are mixing seated or standing, while Yamaha’s innovative glass keys combine tactile operation with dynamic labels that change according to the selected function. Two additional 4.3-inch displays, assignable keys, knobs and custom fader banks allow each operator to tailor the console around the way they work.

The DM5 delivers Yamaha’s renowned transparent sound, providing a clean and accurate starting point from which to build your mix. Each channel offers comprehensive EQ and dynamics processing, with a choice of compressor types, flexible processing order and real-time analyser displays. Effects includes high-quality reverbs, delays, modulation, saturation and multiband processing, while the onboard Dugan Automixer makes managing productions with multiple speech microphones faster and more reliable.

Designed to reduce setup time without taking control away from the engineer, Yamaha’s Assist functions can suggest appropriate head amp levels, channel names, compressor settings and initial fader balances. These tools are particularly useful when working under time pressure or handing the console between operators with different levels of experience.

The Yamaha DM5 includes 32 analogue inputs and 16 analogue outputs, along with 64 × 64-channel Dante networking for connection to Yamaha’s extensive range of R Series and RUio I/O racks. A PY expansion slot supports optional cards for additional Dante, MADI, AES/EBU, MIDI/GPI, Waves SoundGrid or expanded Premium Rack processing.

Offline preparation and remote operation are supported through Yamaha DM Editor, DM StageMix, MonitorMix and ProVisionaire Control PLUS. The DM5 can also monitor and control compatible Yamaha I/O devices, amplifiers, powered speakers and selected third-party wireless systems, helping create a more integrated and efficient production workflow.
